Old Dominion University in coordination with a Bachelor of Science Degree in 网络安全 has approved the awarding of academic credit for prior learning at the undergraduate level based on the successful completion of a specific training certification and review of that certification content by the 网络安全 Program Coordinator.

Interested and qualified students should follow the following process:

Step 1: Student completes the Cyber Security Training Evaluation Form and submit their completed form to the 网络安全 Program Coordinator

Step 2: The Program Coordinator reviews the requests and the supported documentation ( proof of the completed certification) and provides approval or denial of academic credit. Approved forms are then submitted to the Transfer 服务s 办公室 for Processing

Important Note: Students with successful completion of the following certifications will receive CYSE 3ELE (3 credits per certificate, up to 6 credits maximum)

  • CompTIA Security+
  • CISSP: Certified Information Systems Security Professional
  • CEH: Certified Ethical Hacker
  • CISM: Certified Information Security Manager
  • CISA: Certified Information Systems Auditor

The 网络安全 Impact 学习 社区 is open to anyone who has an interest in 网络安全 (majors, 未成年人, and non-majors). You will develop a cybersecurity ePortfolio showcasing your understanding about current trends related to cybersecurity. Topics considered in the Criminal Justice and Information 技术 courses will integrate cybersecurity themes. You also will meet weekly with an academically successful peer mentor. Co-curricular activities will be included.

The courses in this Impact 学习 社区 are: Basic Information Literacy & 研究 (IT 150G), Intro to Criminology (CRJS 215S), and Cyber Explorers & University Orientation (CYSE 100)

The Old Dominion University School of 网络安全 is pleased to announce a new scholarship program for students who are majoring in 网络安全. These are four year scholarships ($8,888 per year, total: $35,552) available to talented students with demonstrated financial need.

The Old Dominion University School of 网络安全 has received funding from the National Science Foundation's CyberCorps® Scholarship for 服务 (SFS) initiative to create the Cyber LeADERS Scholars program. In partnership with Thomas Nelson 社区 College (TNCC) and Tidewater 社区 College (TCC), ODU's School of 网络安全 will provide selected students the opportunity to receive 2-3 years of support. Students receiving the scholarship must work for the federal government in select cybersecurity positions for the same number of years for which they received scholarship support.

The DoD CySP is sponsored by the DoD Chief Information 办公室 and administered by the National Security Agency (NSA).

The DoD CySP is both a scholarship program for the DoD, and a capacity building tool for the nation.  The program is a result of commitment from DoD and Congress to support higher education as a means to prepare the DoD workforce to deal with threats against the Department’s critical information system and networks.

Naval 研究 Enterprise 实习生ship Program

The Naval 研究 Enterprise 实习生ship Program (NREIP) provides an opportunity for college students to participate in research at a Department of Navy (DoN) laboratory during the summer. The goals of NREIP are to encourage participating college students to pursue science and engineering careers, to further education via mentoring by laboratory personnel and their participation in research, and to make them aware of DoN research and technology efforts, which can lead to employment within the DoN. NREIP is providing competitive research internships to approximately 800 college students this year. VA Cyber Alliance Subsidized 实习生ship Project & Digital-Entrant Pathway Project

The Virginia Space Grant Consortium is partnering with the Old Dominion University (ODU) Virginia 建模 Analysis and 模拟 Center (VMASC) for the Virginia Cyber Alliance 实习生ship Project to support subsidies for company-paid student cybersecurity-related internships in Go Virginia's Region 5. The VSGC will manage internship placements for this project using its established Commonwealth STEM Industry 实习生ship Program (CSIIP).

CAE in Cyber Operations Summer 实习生 Program

The Centers of Academic Excellence (CAE) in Cyber Operations Summer 实习生 Program (CAE-Cyber Ops Summer 实习生 Program) is the National Security Agency's (NSA) premier outreach program for students enrolled in the Cyber Operations specialization at NSA-designated universities. Selectees will be invited to participate in a 12-week summer program to gain knowledge of specific cyber-related topics and apply educational knowledge to address various real world mission-related technical challenges. Participants in the program will work on a broad range of problems involving applications of computer science and engineering. 了解更多 ►
